  CP @ Guildford 'Canadian Pacific' arrives at Guildford on its way to Eastleigh for the coming week's EWS Crew Training Specials.


 

'The Cathedrals Express' 18th April 2002

 
  'Canadian Pacific' brings in the ECS at Eastleigh for the first run to Yeovil. CP @ Eastleigh CP @ Salisbury
The train is at Salisbury for watering and to pick up joiners.

 
  CP @ Gillingham CP @ Gillingham CP @ Gillingham
  At Gillingham, during servicing a lubrication pipe to the left hand cylinder is found fractured. The people from Yeovil bring equipment to make a temporary repair. 10.57 SWT departure leaves for Waterloo.
Later, 35005 and support coach set off alone to Yeovil.
CanPac and the support coach return after repairs, coaling and turning at Yeovil to continue back to Salisbury.

 
  'The Cathedrals Express' has finally arrived back at Salisbury, into platform 3. There was no longer time to continue to Eastleigh to start the second tour. 'Canadian Pacific' is seen departing with the ECS which it will leave in the siding while turning round the triangle. CP @ Salisbury
 
  servicing standpipe Returned from turning and picking up the support coach, coal is trimmed, while water is supplied from the standpipe...
 
  CP reverse ...before setting off to pick up the train ... ... and return with it. CP ECS

 
  The afternoon tour now resumed the original schedule.
 
  CP @ Yeovil 'Canadian Pacific' has brought 'The Cathedrals Express' to Yeovil and is over the pit for servicing by the South Western Steam Railway Company on the south side.

 
  S&D Loco Co Ltd Somerset and Dorset Locomotive Co. Ltd.
occupies the north side.

  After coaling the engine is turned...
  turntable 1 turntable 2 turntable 3 turntable 4
  turntable 5 CP sunset
  ...all the way round... ...then takes water before rejoining the train.
 
  The mishap free return to Eastleigh was accomplished according to schedule sustaining some fast running.
