Further Information

The purpose of the Croydon Group is to support the Mid-hants Railway physically and financially, and to provide local members with monthly talks and information on developments on the the Railway. Every year, through our fundraising, we donate over £500 to specific projects on the Railway, to help to keep steam running between Alton and Alresford.

You can help the Group support the Railway by coming to our monthly meetings on the second Friday of each month, except August: non-Members are also welcome. For your £1 entrance fee we can offer the chance to:

 •  be entertained by a varied programme of transport speakers;
 •  chat to like minded enthusiasts;
 •  bring a friend along as well;
 •  publicise the Group by taking and displaying copies of our programme sheet;
 •  publicise the Railway by taking bulk supplies of leaflets for display;
 •  help distribute the quarterly Mid-hants News magazine to local members;
 •  help us with the occasional publicity stand;
 •  dispose of your loose change in our model Bulleid coach;
 •  win a prize in our monthly raffle;
 •  hire a railway video for £1 a month;
 •  give your old aluminium cans to us to sell towards Group funds;
 •  travel in our Bulleid coach No. 4211 on our annual trip on the line;
 •  work on the vintage coaches owned by some members of the Group.
